Our Wedding

Matt and Tash first met in September 2019 while working at Country Hills Golf Club. Though they had both started a few years earlier, Matt in Grounds and Tash in Food &amp; Beverage, their paths didn’t truly cross until Matt moved into an Administrative role with the Grounds department and Tash transitioned into the Clubhouse office. During that first off-season, they quickly became friends. One of the standout memories from that time was when Tash managed to convince Matt to dress up as Santa for an afternoon, listening to the youngest members of the club share their Christmas wishes. When the pandemic hit, life pulled them in different directions and they lost touch. But in February 2021, Matt reached out after some encouragement from his sister, and Tash answered. Two weeks later they hung out for the first time in over a year and instantly became inseparable. They officially began dating on April 19, 2021, and less than a year later they were living together. A few years after that, following brunch on their four-year anniversary, Matt proposed at Bowness Park!

WHERE TO STAYWe’ve reserved a block of rooms at Hotel Alt - University District, which is only a few minutes drive from both the Parkdale United Church and Silver Springs Golf Club. The hotel is aware of our wedding and has kindly offered a preferred rate of $149/night for the weekend. Reservations can be cancelled 72 hours prior. A LITTLE GAP FILLERAfter the ceremony, there will be a couple of hours before cocktail hour at Silver Springs begins. If you’d like some ideas to fill that time, we've made a list of some of our nearby favourite places to grab a snack and drink, just be sure to save lot's of room for cocktail hour and dinner! Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are always nearby and parking is available at the hotel if you’re driving. *Leopold's Tavern is a particular favourite of the bride and groom as that's where Matt took Natasha for their four year anniversary brunch before going to Bowness Park to pop the question! If you choose to kill some time here between the ceremony and cocktail hour, Matt and Tash encourage you to ask the bar staff to let you take a polaroid for their walls!

We kindly request formal attire for our celebration. Suits and ties or tuxedos are welcome for gentlemen, and long dresses or elegant cocktail gowns for ladies. Thank you for helping us make the day feel extra special!
